Dr Riccardo Crescenzi, Laurea (Rome), MSc (LSE), Phd (Rome) is Lecturer in Economic Geography at the Department of Geography and Environment, London School of Economics. He is Programme Director of the MSc in Local Economic Development and he is also affiliated to the Spatial Economics Research Centre (SERC). Before joining the LSE, Riccardo was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute(Florence). He was a visiting scholar at the London School of Economics and at the University of California, Los Angeles. Past research and academic awards include the Royal Geographical Society Best Master Dissertation Prize, the Italian Regional Science Association Prize "G.Leonardi" for the best PhD Dissertation and the joint Italian National Accademia dei Lincei & British Academy for the Humanities and the Social Sciences research fellowship. His research is focused on regional economic development and growth, innovation and EU development policies analysis. He has published in international journals, such as Growth and Change, Regional Studies, The Journal of Economic Geography and The World Economy. |
