Eleni Katirtzoglou has been teaching at LSE since 2006 and has a Ph.D. in Functional
Analysis (Musielak-Orlicz sequence spaces) and a M.Sc. in European Political Economy.
During the years 1996-2000 she was a research fellow in the Basic Research Institute
in the Mathematical Sciences (BRIMS) at Hewlett-Packard Labs, Bristol and in the Department
of Control Optimisation and
Stochastics at Delft University of Technology.
She has developed the Round Table model for teaching and learning mathematics and specializes in teaching abstract
mathematics to economists. In 2016 Eleni received the
LSESU Award for Innovative Teaching and an
LSE Excellence in
Education Award. To keep up with the times, she is currently pursuing a M.Sc. in Big Data Science and is interested
in Machine Learning and Risk Analysis based on Bayesian Networks.
