Career
|
|
I have a first degree (with distinction) in
Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC)
in Brazil (one of the best Engineering Schools in Latin America).
After graduating, I started my professional
career as an executive at BAT Brazil as a production and maintenance
manager, leading a team of 90 people. Moving back to academia, I
was awarded a Masters and a PhD in Production Engineering (field:
Operational Research) also from UFSC. My PhD was developed in
cooperation with the Department of Management Science, University of
Strathclyde.
I held academic positions in Brazil and Britain,
as well as visiting lectureships in the two countries. The details of my
