Reading lists, lecture notes and exercises are available from this page. You are strongly advised to attend all lectures and classes. Lecture notes alone will not be sufficient to pass the course. Learning all the lecture notes by heart will help, but will also give a false sense of security. The lecture notes do not give a total picture of the course.
You may like to refer to additional lecture notes which I provide for course ec303 (available on the web). These cover similar material but at a deeper level.
If you have comments on / corrections to the notes please tell me.
You can also check out the course web page for details on the course as a whole.
You can download a version of Richard Baldwin's book "Towards an Integrated Europe"
You can also get these notes from the public folders on the schools exhange server (Go to Public folders --> all public folders --> departments --> economics --> ec230)
See Exercises for the two essays that are due this term.
Essays should be approximately 1000 words and should definitely not exceed 1500 words. All essays should be word processed and printed in a reasonable sized font (12 point).
Three hours - six questions from section A; two questions from section B. Each section is worth 50 marks
Section A: 8 short questions
Section B: 4 long questions
Format for exam questions is as in previous years.
