At the moment I am supervising the following doctoral theses written by LSE research students in the Department of International Relations. I am interested in supervising doctoral theses that focus on international monetary and financial relations or on international organizations.
Working Title: Bank Runs as Social Constructions: 2007-09 Banking Crisis in the United Kingdom as a Case Study.

Bulamacioglu's dissertation examines the cognitive and institutional factors that lead some banking crises to develop into systemic crises of confidence (as in the shape of bank runs) whereas others evolve into less severe localized corporate failures. Among Bulamacioglu's research interests are the relationship between trust and confidence in financial markets, banking panics and bank runs, banking crises, and economic sociology. Previously, Bulamacioglu worked as a financial statement auditor at KPMG.

From 2005 to 2009, Parks worked at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) as an Associate Director of Development Policy in the Department of Policy and International Relations. He has written and contributed to several books and articles on global environmental politics, international political economy, and development theory and practice. Most recently, he co-authored Greening Aid? Understanding Environmental Assistance to Developing Countries (Oxford University Press, 2008) with Michael Tierney, J. Timmons Roberts, and Robert Hicks, and A Climate of Injustice: Global Inequality, North-South Politics, and Climate Policy (MIT Press, 2007) with J. Timmons Roberts.
