Click here to complete the survey. The survey is open until 9th July 2011. Anonymised survey results will be shared with the Residential Services team. Submit your response and you will be automatically entered in to a free draw with the opportunity to win one of twenty £10 vouchers.

Maintenance

Carpet removal
You will have noticed that the carpet has been taken off the walls in the area leading to the restaurant. At present the contractors are working on the 4th floor and will move onto the 6th floor around 1st June. The contractors should not start work until 8am and noisy work should not start until 9am. If you have any issues with contractors starting before these times please let reception know.

Housekeeping

Bathroom checks - this week
Rooms will be checks commenced on Monday and will continue throughout the week. If you bathroom is found to be in an unacceptable condition you will be immediately charged £30 and housekeeping will be sent to clean your bathroom. There will be no option to clean the bathroom yourself after the inspections. Please remember that bathroom cleaning services are available through reception - they will clean your bathroom for £11.40. Following this set of checks rooms will be checked every two weeks until the end of term.

Showerhead Cleaning - Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May
The monthly statutory showerhead clean will take place on 21st and 22nd May on all floors. As always you do not need to be present in your room whilst this work takes place and it should take only a few minutes
.

Reception

UUK Code of Practice
We would like to inform you that LSE is signed up to the UUK Code of practice. The UUK code is in place to ensure that all residences offer their residents the best services, and that the residences are meeting the expected standards. There is an online checker to check which residences are registered. For more information please visit www.uukcode.info

Guest Passes
Please remember that you should return your guest pass back to reception when your guest has departed. Any unreturned guest passes must be returned to reception by 24th of charges will be added to your account.

Limited Reception service - Afternoon of 24th May
On 24th May there will be a limited reception service from 11am. This is because it is the annual Residential Services Staff Conference and most staff have to attend. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience.

Participate in a research project

Dear residents of Bankside House,

I’m doing a qualitative study for my MSc dissertation project and I’m looking for participants for individual interviews. I'm interested in talking to students who do not have a Facebook account. Whether you’ve had one in the past and deleted it / are no longer using it or you’ve never had one doesn't matter. The interview is of course confidential. The interview will take place between now and the middle of June, whenever and wherever would be most convenient for participants. As a participant in this study you can also choose to participate in the Institute of Social Psychology lottery, where you have the opportunity to win one of 3 x £100 prizes. If you are interested in participating or want more information, please email me at i.s.oeye@lse.ac.uk .

Kind regards,

Ingrid Oeye
