Open Day for Undergraduate offer holders

Accommodation Helpers needed - would you be interested in working at this event?

LSE is holding an Open Day for undergraduate offer holders on Wednesday 29th June 2011. The Open Day is for prospective undergraduate students who are thinking of applying to LSE for entry in 2012. We usually welcome around 3,500 prospective students and their parents to this Open Day. We need students to help
between 11.45am - 4.30pm (provisional hours) to conduct tours of Bankside House. You must be resident at Bankside House. Students working these hours will be paid £30. Those who are required to work less hours will be paid accordingly. If you would like to help at the Open Day please contact Caroline Johansen (c.johansen@lse.ac.uk or 020 7955 6614) in the student recruitment office. Please note that we are only able to recruit a limited number of students for these positions, therefore you should reply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Please be aware that this event will take place during your summer vacation. There will be a briefing meeting held on Monday 27th June at 3pm where we will give you further information about the day and allocate specific duties. Please note that your attendance at this meeting is compulsory. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline.

Reception

Please remember your LSE Card
You must use your LSE card to enter the building, the entry system is there for everybody's safety. If you forget your card you will asked to sign in at reception, if you forget your card more than three times you will be reported to the Warden and £5.00 charge applied to your account. Your LSE card should always be to hand when entering the building.

End of Term Re-Use

Re-use room now open
The table-tennis room will be set-up as a re-use room from Friday 27th May. It is estimated that every student leaves between 10-20kg of reusable items when they move our of halls. The re-use scheme allows these items to be collected and diverted from landfill. You can leave stationary, electrical appliances (does not have to be working), fridges, books, clothes, shoes, bedding and unopened food (in tins and packets). If you wish to take items from the room you may do so but please make sure that you complete the tracking sheet.
The room will be open daily between 7.00am and 3.30pm. If you need access outside of these hours please come to reception and ask for the room to be opened. Please ensure that all donated items are clean, placed in the right area and do not use the room for dumping rubbish. During this time the table tennis table will be placed in the TV lounge. For more details visit Sustainable LSE, ask at reception or e-mail j.s.woodley@lse.ac.uk.
