Room checks

Bathroom and room checks have taken place this week. If you bathroom required extra cleaning you will have already been notified, the charge will have been added to your account and the cleaners will have been instructed to clean your bathroom the following day. In relation to the rooms, a large proportion of the rooms were very messy and required tidying and vacuuming. Please remember to clean your room before you leave, take any rubbish to the refuse areas on your floor and vacuum your room. Vacuum cleaners can be borrowed from reception, please remember to bring your ID card.

Window Cleaning - Delayed to 17th, 18th and 20th June

Unfortunately, the window cleaning schedule has been slightly delayed, due to Thursday's heavy rain. The majority of windows have been cleaned internally, although access was difficult to some windows due to residents belongings all over the floor. The outside of the windows will be now be cleaned on Friday 17th June, Saturday 18th June and Monday 20th June. So, please make sure to have your curtains closed when getting dressed etc. If you live on the lower floors you will not need to keep your windows closed, as the window cleaning is now been undertaken by a different method. If there are any further changes we will inform you as soon as possible.

Disposing of sharp items
Sharp items such as knives, razors etc. should not be disposed of in general refuse as this poses a very real danger to the refuse collectors. They should be brought to reception and disposed of in the sharps bin. They will either be reused or taken away safely.

We will contact you individually if work is due to undertaken in your bathroom and would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

Carpet removal
The contractors are now working on the sixth floor. They should not start work until 8am and noisy work should not start until 9am. If you have any issues with contractors starting before these times please let reception know.

Reception

Lounges - Closed from 20th June
In order to assist with the transition from student to vacation mode the lounges on levels 1 to 6 will be closed from 20th June. If you have any items in the lounges please remove them before this point. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause.

End of Term Re-Use

Re-use room now open
The table-tennis room is now set-up as a re-use room. It is estimated that every student leaves between 10-20kg of reusable items when they move our of halls. The re-use scheme allows these items to be collected and diverted from landfill. You can leave stationary, electrical appliances (does not have to be working), fridges, books, clothes, shoes, bedding and unopened food (in tins and packets).
Sharp items should be brought to reception to be stored in the sharps bin - they should not be take to the re-use room or disposed of with general refuse. If you wish to take items please feel free but be sure to complete the tracking sheet. The room will be open daily between 7.00am and 3.30pm. If you need access outside of these hours please come to reception and ask for the room to be opened. Please ensure that all items are clean, placed in the right area. For more details visit Sustainable LSE, ask at reception or e-mail j.s.woodley@lse.ac.uk.
