Hello. My main research area covers empirical work in labour economics, the economics of education, the economics of crime and industrial relations. I am Professor of Economics at University College London and Research Director at the Centre for Economic Performance. I am also one of the Editors of The Economic Journal. I am a member of the Low Pay Commission , the body which makes recommendations to the UK government about the national minimum wage. For a three year term, from 2009 to 2011, I am President of the European Association of Labour Economists.
