Hello. My main current research areas cover empirical work in labour economics, the economics of education and the economics of crime. I am Professor of Economics at University College London and Research Director at the Centre for Economic Performance. I am a Fellow of the British Academy and one of the Editors of The Economic Journal. I am a member of the Low Pay Commission , the body which makes recommendations to the UK government about the national minimum wage. I was (from 2009 to 2011) President of the European Association of Labour Economists and am a fellow of the Society of Labor Economists.
