    Background:

Alexis has a history of research and programme management in a range of substantive areas within sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, gender-based

violence, and global mental health. Over the past 10 years, she has worked on numerous international programmes in Africa and Asia and conducted extensive UK-based research with the National Health

Service. Alexis' work often focuses on understanding health behaviour, service access and delivery for hard-to-reach and marginalised populations.

She is currently an ESRC-funded PhD candidate in Demography within the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics. Her PhD explores self-directed violence and mental health amongst

women of reproductive age in Sri Lanka, with a particular interest in perinatal women and the role of SRHR in women's self-directed violence.
