Lauren M. Phillips

I am a lecturer at the LSE in the Department of International Relations, specialising in International Political Economy.

My research focuses on the interaction between democracy and financial market performance in both developed and emerging market economies. I am interested in the political origins and implications of financial crises and sovereign debt performance, and particularly how political institutions shape financial market performance.

I am the course coordinator for IR460, Comparative Political Economy (you can watch a video introduction to the course here); I also teach IR450, International Political Economy.

On this website you can find my bio and information regarding my publications and recent research.
