Additional shops
1. Argos
Argos is a major chain of stores with a slightly bizarre purchasing procedure. You pick what you want from a catalog, pay for it, then someone brings it out from the back. The benefit of this system is that their stores stock a very wide variety of goods - with catalogue cateogories being Kitchen & Laundry, Home & Furniture, Garden & DIY, Sports & Leisure, Health & Personal Care, Jewellery & Watches, Gifts & Hobbies, Home Entertainment & Sat Nav, Video Games, Photography, Office PC’s & Phones, Toys & Games and Nursery. Scroll the map up to find.
2. Maplin
Computer and electrical store near LSE - slightly pricey but convenient and have a wide range of stock. If you don't need it urgently though, you'll probably get what you want cheaper online.
3. Ryness
Conveniently situated electrical store - good for adaptors, cables, extension cables etc.
Gyms
The closest gym to Bankside is the Bankside Gym just round the corner. There is also a student gym at LSE, as well as one at the University of London which is inconveniently situated up in Bloomsbury but includes a swimming pool.
4. Bankside Health Club
The closest gym to Bankside - near Tortilla.

Cinemas
There are a lot of cinemas in central London, but these are usually slightly expensive, so you're often better heading to one further away. Wherever you go, bear in mind that UK cinemas all offer student discounts, and 2 for 1 tickets for Orange mobile customers on Wendesday.
We would recommend heading to:
The O2 (not shown on map)
Seeing as Bankside is on the Jubilee line, the O2 in Greenwich is actually a very convenient cinema, and worth it just for the amazing environment. As it's cheaper than central London this makes up for the tube fares too! Take the Jubilee Line eastbound from London Bridge to Greenwich.
