Welcome to London

This section is to provide you with all the information you need as you arrive in London as a new student.  

First, there is the New to LSE section, which explains the basics of LSE - the campus, the culture, the grading system etc, as well as some of the words you will encounter at university which, if you are new to university study, can be sometimes confusing at first.

Second is the New to Britain section, for the large proportion of Bankside residents who are not just new to London, but also to the UK. It explains some of the extra things international students might need to know when arriving - like getting a good deal on a UK mobile phone contract, and which shops to look out for.

Third is the Coping section, which provides information on coping with being away from home.

Next there is the Understanding London section, which explains how London is organized, what the different areas of London are known for etc.

Finally, there is the Getting About section which explains how to get around London using the vast public transport networks which exist here in the Capital.
