Hello and welcome.
New!A short paper on how people use search in the wider context of navigating the web. View the PDF here: Web behaviour: Search engines in context..
This web page is intended to function primarily as a resource for those people who are interested in my academic work.
Currently I am a PhD student in the third year of my programme at Media@LSE. My research topic is the Internet search engine, which I am addressing from a sociological rather than technical point of view. I am doing a production study which involves lots of interviews with people who currently or formerly work in major search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, MSN, and AskJeeves. It also involves interviews with search engine optimisers and search engine marketers. You can find papers etc. that I've published or presented on the Research page.
You will also find my academic CV on the CV page.
