Midterm Exams
General Guidelines
- There will be three midterm exams, as indicated on the course schedule.
- Midterms may cover any material discussed in class.
- Midterms are not cumulative, but may build on concepts tested in previous midterms.
- Pay special attention to any handouts given out in class (these will also be posted on the course schedule).
- Pay special attention to the thesis and the arguments presented in each article we discuss.
Midterm 1 (Feb 13)
- This midterm will cover material from Weeks 1-5.
- Pay special attention to the foundational ethical theories discussed in the first two weeks, and how they relate to other class readings.
Midterm 2 (Mar 20)
- This midterm will emphasize material from Weeks 6-9.
- Pay special attention to the concepts of probability discussed in class.
- Practice calculating expected utilities, and know how to use Bayes' Theorem to make probabilistic predictions.
- Don't forget to study the theses and arguments from each of the readings.
Midterm 3 (Apr 17)
- This midterm will emphasize material from Weeks 11-14.
- Focus on the theses and arguments from each of the readings.
