I was Deputy Chair of the CSRG between 2018 and 2020. The group was responsible for reviewing and simplifying the classification schemes used for undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes across the School. Additionally, the CSRG developed proposals for introducing resits and updating the School’s policy on deferrals.
I was responsible for the data analysis and modelling of the effects of different classification schemes and resit options as well as liaising with all academic departments about the proposed changes. This involved over 300 hours of work.
The proposals were adopted by the School and were in place before the pandemic hit, vastly improving the student experience.
LSE REF Impact Case Studies Panel (2020).
I was a member of panel and responsible for reviewing draft impact case studies for the politics and international studies unit of assessment (UoA 19) 2018-2020.
This involved assessing which of the 20 draft case studies should be taken to the next stage of development and then providing further feedback on 14 revised case studies. Six cases were finally submitted to the REF.
LSE Research Ethics Committee (2021).
I was a member of the committee between 2015 and 2021.
The Research Ethics Committee has three core functions are: i) to review and make recommendations on the School’s Research Ethics Policy and procedure and related guidance; ii) to take responsibility for making decisions on applications for ethical approval that have been submitted by staff and students across the School; and iii) to provide guidance to staff and students on matters relating to research ethics, and to oversee the provision of research ethics training.
I oversaw the development and implementation of the School’s new online Research Ethics Approval tool.

LSE Assessment Service Change Project (2020).
I was an academic member and board member for this project between 2018 and 2020. This was a major business improvement project that sought to make changes across the whole of the student experience.

I was Deputy Head of Department for one of the School’s largest departments (~1000 students including the highest number of postgraduate students). I held this position between 2015 and 2018.
During this time I was responsible for a range of teaching related initiatives including the introduction of professional academic advisors for our undergraduate students, the launch of a portfolio of new MSc programmes, implementing the LSE academic code in the Department, overseeing new course proposals for existing degrees, reviewing the BSc Management programme structure and choice of outside options, launch of the departmental in-house careers service.

I chaired the Departmental Teaching Committee from 2013 to 2018. The Teaching Committee reviews all new course and programme proposals as well as setting departmental policy on issues including referencing requirements, course choice and marking schemes.
