Committee Elections - Hustings 7.30pm, Thursday 18th November
The new Bankside Committee will be
elected this week! If you are interested in standing for a position
then you have until 5pm on Thursday 18th to send in your details -
just reply to the committee's e-mail from yesterday. Hustings
will be held in the Common room from 7.30pm with free soft drinks

Your
stay at Bankside is a fundamental part of your experience at LSE. We
want to know what you think about Bankside and the services we
provide. We are always seeking to improve both the quality of our
accommodation and our service which is where your come in...
Meet Ian Spencer (Director of Residential Services) and Andy
Farrell (Director of Finance and Facilities) in the Annex Room (near
the Restaurant) at 6pm on Tuesday 30th November
We would like you to tell us about your accommodation
experience. What are we doing right? What are we doing wrong? What
areas would you like to see improved? It can cover anything from
your dealings with the accommodation office to the facilities in
your room or the
service you receive from reception. The choice is yours!
All Bankside
residents that attend The Big Talk will be entered into a draw for
two free cinema tickets!

Maintenance |
Surveyors on site
Over the
next couple of weeks there will continue to be building surveyors on
site. They will be mainly focusing on the communal areas but if they
do need access any room we will get in touch with you directly.
There should not be any more noisy work taking place. We apologise
for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during these
investigations!
Pest Control - 1st Floor - Tuesday 23rd November
Beaver
pest control services will be undertaking routine preventative
checks in all rooms and kitchens on the 1st floor on Tuesday 23rd
November. You do not need to be present in your room for this work
to take place, the engineer should be in your room for only a short
period of time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this
essential work.
Disruption to TV signal - Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd
November
Contractors will be undertaking work on the TV aerial to improve the
signal on Monday and Tuesday. Whilst this work takes place there may
be some disruption to the TV signal. We apologise for any
inconvenience.

Room Checks - Tuesday 23rd November
Unfortunately we were not able to complete all the room checks this
week. Rooms on the Ground, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors will now be
checked on Tuesday 23rd November. You do not need to be present in
your room and it should take us no more than five minutes to check
each room. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

DRIFT10 -
bit.fall
This winter the River Thames will be
transformed by a series of contemporary art works directly in the
river and along it's banks. Just in front of Tate Modern will be
bit.fall a waterfall creating a cascade of words sourced from live
news feeds. The show will only work during high tide. For more

Cologne
Christmas Market
A German-style market will be
appearing between 19th - 22nd November between the Southbank Centre
and the London Eye. Decorated wooden chalets will be selling a range
of hand-crafted gifts and delicacies such as Glühwein and
