Christmas at Bankside |
Over the next few weeks
this section will have information about what is happening over
Bankside around Christmas Vacation.
The
Christmas Party
Sunday 5th December,
Dinner from 6pm
There will be a
special dinner in the canteen between 6pm and 8pm. This will be
followed by live music and entertainment in the bar with live bands,
snow machine and a chocolate fountain. Tickets cost just £6 and
include dinner and one free drink from the bar. Tickets can be
purchased from the committee in reception between 5pm and 7pm or in
the bar from 8pm. Dress code is black tie. There will no dinner
available without a ticket on Sunday.
Bankside Christmas operations
The
Bankside Christmas operational planner can now be found online.
Please check this for details of when reception, restaurant, bar,
maintenance, housekeeping and extra bed services will be available.
Restaurant and Kitchens
The
restaurant will be closed completely between 19th December and 2nd
January. For students who stay over this period two kitchens will be
made available so that you can cook - more details will follow
shortly.

The
student services centre have put together a useful
Guide to spending Christmas in London. This guide includes
events that are going on along with opening times for various LSE
services.

Surveyors on site
Over the
next couple of weeks there will continue to be building surveyors on
site. They will be mainly focusing on the communal areas but if they
do need access any room we will get in touch with you directly.
There should not be any more noisy work taking place. We apologise
for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during these
investigations!

Reception |
Online grocery deliveries
Both Sainsbury's and Tesco have
advised us that they will no longer allow the reception staff
to sign for grocery deliveries on your behalf. As such if you
order groceries you must be in the building to sign for them when
they arrive. If you are not available when you food arrives it will
be returned.

this Weekend |

Crypt-mas by
Illumini
Crypt-mas is a Christmas art
experience created by Illumini. You can explore a festive grotto
like never before with bright colourful projections and illuminated
art-work. The opening night on the 2nd December will feature fire
eaters, jugglers, performers, a light show and the chance to create
your own light graffiti. The event is open from 11am to 7pm daily
from 2nd December to 22nd December at
St. Pancras Church
Crypt, Dukes Road, NW1 2BA (take the Northern Line from London
Bridge to Euston). For more details visit the

engineering works on the Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, and Piccadilly lines
this weekend. There will also be part closures on the DLR.
