Over the next few weeks
this section will have information about what is happening over
Bankside around Christmas Vacation.
Bankside Christmas operations
The
Bankside Christmas operational planner can now be found online.
Please check this for details of when reception, restaurant, bar,
maintenance, housekeeping and extra bed services will be available.
Restaurant and Kitchens
The
restaurant will be closed completely between 19th December and 2nd
January. For students who stay over this period two kitchens will be
made available so that you can cook - more details will follow
shortly.
Christmas in London
The
student services centre have put together a useful
Guide to spending Christmas in London. This guide includes
events that are going on along with opening times for various LSE
services.
Discounted Hair Cuts!
Party
season us upon us and
O'Sullivans
Salons are offering all Bankside residents a 20% discount on all
your hair and beauty needs. O'Sullivans is located at 3 Sumner Street
next to Crushh and Joy.

Maintenance |

Surveyors on site
There will continue to be building surveyors
at Bankside next week. They will be mainly focusing on the communal areas but if they
do need access to a room we will get in touch with you directly.
On 15th December there will be a small amount of drilling work, from
10am, on the 8th Floor. Work is also due to start of redecoration of
areas where work has already taken place. We apologise
for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during these
investigations!

Reception |
Showers
When using your shower please ensure
that you keep the bathroom door closed and that you do not allow
large amounts of steam to escape into your room or corridor. Large
amounts of steam in a room or hallway can cause the fire alarm to be
activated.
Registered Mail and Parcels
If you wish to check the registered
mail list at Reception before you swipe through the revolving door
there is a list at reception. Please, however, try to avoid times
when the reception is busy. There is also a list posted near the
mail pigeon-holes.
Sub-Letting
Please remember that sub-letting of
your room is strictly forbidden by your licence agreement.
Computer Room Chairs
Six grey
chairs have gone missing from the computer room. If these chairs are
not returned then new ones will have to be bought. The cost of the
chairs will be split between all residents. If you have one of
the chairs in your room please bring it back to the computer room
immediately.

IT |
Disruption to wireless service - 14th and 15th December
Due to a software upgrade there will
be some disruption to the wireless network (both at LSE and in the
residences) from about 00.30 on both 14th and 15th December
IT Surgeries
If you need further help Bankside has
regular IT surgeries in the computer room;
- Monday 9.00am - 10.00am
- Wednesday 3.00pm - 4.00pm
- Sunday 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Free in London
this Weekend |

The Chocolate
Festival - 10th to 12th December.
The Chocolate Festival is a unique
event which gives visitors a special opportunity to enjoy a wide
range of chocolate related products, as well as fine truffles, bars
and bon-bons. The event is free to enter and there are usually lots
of free samples to be had. It's also a great opportunity to some
Christmas shopping. The festival will take place on the Southbank
Centre Square, just behind Royal Festival Hall. For more details

engineering works on the District and Jubilee lines
this weekend. There will also be part closures on the DLR.
In very cold weather it is always advisable to 'check
