In the academic world, one of the greatest and most rewarding task of a researcher is to encourage new, young, and bright individuals in their training to become the next generation of scholars. At the moment, I am supervising the following doctoral students. Follows a list of my recently graduated supervisees.

Sarah Harrison


Sarah, an ESRC-sponsored doctoral student is in the third year of her PhD. She works on the comparative discursive strategies, appeals, and success of extreme right parties in Europe. Sarah has already published several articles and chapters in leading political science publications. She works as my research officer on two of my projects and for colleagues' projects co-ordinated at the EUI and the LSE

Chiara Jasson


Chiara is in the third year of her PhD. She works on the way the media have covered the issue of the new EU constitution in several European democracies. She has started presenting in political science conferences and has just got married: Congratulations!!!

Outi Ruusuvirta

 

Outi will start her PhD in October 2007, focusing on the role of voting machines in shaping citizens' minds. Her exciting project is at the forefront of the political science study of the impact of new technologies on political behaviour.

AND RECENTLY GRADUATED:

 

Achim Goerres


Achim obtained his PhD in December 2006. He works on the political participation of the elderly and is currently employed as a post-doctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute in Germany. He has published in such journals as the British Journal of Politics and International Relations.

Pierre Hausemer


Pierre obtained his PhD in March 2007. He works on representation in the European Parliament. Pierre has published book chapters and articles in European Union Politics. He is currently employed by a public consultancy firm in London, specialising in European Union questions.
