I am a young, aspiring scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where I am a Teaching Fellow in the Department of International Development (formerly known as the Development Studies Institute, DESTIN). It is in the very same department that I also pursue my Ph.D. degree, conducting research on national and international aspects of state making and state breaking. Over the past years, I have been closely collaborating with the LSE's Crisis States Research Centre (CSRC) of which I am a research associate, and have undertaken a number of fellowship placements at other research centres. While having been associated with the Academy for Peace and Development (APD) in Somaliland during the course of my diverse field research sojourns, I joined the Centre d'études et de recherches internationals (CERI), Sciences Po, Paris in 2010, and spent some time at the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP), the Graduate Institute, Geneva in 2011. Although I have enjoyed my doctoral research to great extent, I am looking forward to concluding it, probably by early August 2012!

I leave it here for now.
